Learning to use the internet

If you've never used the internet or only had a bit of a go at it – we can help you find out more. We run free courses on using the internet that anyone can attend. The courses run for 10 hours split up into two hour chunks. We try and run them at different times to suit you. Click here for the current timetable. If you can't find a time you want – contact us. You don't have to have ever used a computer before.

We'll show you how to surf websites and search for information you want. At the same time we'll introduce you to using e-mail - so if you've got friends or relatives with an e-mail address, bring the addresses along. We'll show you how to contact them.

Once we have helped you set up your own e-mail address you can use it on any computer with a connection to the internet – at home, at work, in another cybercafe, in the library, at airports, - in fact anywhere. Your e-mail address is free.

Why do the course?

Even if you've used the internet a bit it's worth doing the course. It entitles you to free drop-in use of the cybercentre for five more hours after the course has finished. You can then come along to any drop in session to use the computers. This course is run by a tutor Lewisham College.
